KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Cabinet is underway at Singha Durbar, to discuss on the 'separatist' remark of Minister for Information and Communication Jay Prakash Gupta.

oday's cabinet meeting comes as a run up to the demands of lawmakers (excluding Madhes-based MPs) to prime minister, to oust Gupta from the cabinet immediately, alleging his remark as 'irresponsible' and against the nation's integrity.
Minster Gupta, who is also the chairman of the Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Republican, had warned last week at a public programme that Madhes might sever ties with the state if the past accords with Madhes-based parties were not implemented within three months.
Earlier, the incumbent Maoist-led government had ousted the then Defense Minister Sharat Singh Bhandari for making such a separatist remark.
